Having or showing little or no emotion, interest, or concern.
Origin:
From greek apathēs (without feeling, passionless), from a- + pathos (feeling).
Examples:
- The audience was apathetic and barely paid attention to the speaker.
- After the loss, the team was apathetic and had little motivation to improve.
- She felt apathetic towards her job and had no desire to work.
- He was apathetic about the election and did not bother to vote.
