Asthmatic (noun)

A person who has asthma.

Origin:

Late 17th century: from greek asthma "panting" (from azein "to pant") + -ic.

Examples:

1. He is an asthmatic and he has to use an inhaler to breathe.
2. She is an asthmatic and she has to be careful about exposure to smoke and other triggers.
3. The doctor prescribed an asthmatic medication to help the asthmatic patient.
4. Air pollution can worsen symptoms in asthmatics.
