A small, round, beige-coloured seed of a Mediterranean plant, which is widely used in Middle Eastern, Indian, and Mediterranean cuisine, particularly in the form of hummus.

From old french chiche, from latin cicer, from ancient greek κίκερ (kíker, "chickpea").
