Copay (noun)

A fixed amount of money that a person pays for a covered health care service, usually a percentage of the total cost.

Origin:

Short for "co-payment".

Examples:

1. I have to pay a $25 copay for my doctor's visit.
2. The copay for a prescription is $10.
3. The copay for a specialist is higher than for a primary care physician.
4. The insurance plan has a $50 copay for emergency room visits.
