Decaf (adjective)

Not containing caffeine.

Origin:

Short for decaffeinated, from the french décaféiné, past participle of décaféiner, from de- + caféine caffeine.

Examples:

  1. I'll have a decaf coffee, please.
  2. This decaf tea is perfect for a night time drink.
  3. I can't drink regular coffee, it keeps me up at night, so I always get decaf.
  4. I prefer decaf coffee, it doesn't make me feel jittery.
