- Let (liquid) flow or fall drop by drop.
- To let saliva flow from the mouth uncontrollably.
- To push or hit a ball forward along the ground with a light, bouncing motion, using one's feet.
- To move or walk with a slow, unsteady gait, typically because one is very young, infirm, or drunk.
Origin:
Early 16th century: probably imitative.
Examples:
- Water was dribbling from the tap.
- The baby dribbled milk from his mouth.
- He dribbled the ball past the defender.
- He was dribbling along the pavement, clearly drunk.
