Egocentric (adjective)

Concerned only with oneself and one's own needs and interests; self-centered.

Origin:

Early 19th century: from ego "self" + greek kentrikos "central".

Examples:

1. He was criticized for being egocentric.
2. The egocentric behavior was seen as selfish.
3. Egocentric people often lack empathy for others.
4. Egocentricity can be detrimental to relationships.
5. Egocentricity is the opposite of being considerate of others.
