Escapee (noun)

1. A person who has escaped from captivity or confinement.
2. A person who has broken out of a prison or other place of detention.

Origin:

From the verb "escape" which comes from the old french word escaper, which means "to slip out of, to avoid".

Examples:

1. The prison has several escapees that they are trying to capture.
2. The escapee was caught within a day of breaking out.
3. The escapees were able to get away by stealing a car.
4. The escapee was on the run for several weeks before being captured.
