Expect (verb)

1. To consider likely or certain to happen.
2. To look forward to the occurrence or attainment of (something).

Origin:

From old french esperer, from latin exspectare "look out for, await", from ex- "out" + spectare "look at".

Examples:

1. I expect to hear from him soon.
2. We expect the project to be completed by next month.
3. I expect a lot from my employees.
4. I expect to see you at the meeting.
