Heliocentric

Having the sun as the center, as in the astronomical model in which the earth and other planets revolve around the sun.
Origin:
Derived from the greek words 'helios' meaning sun and 'kentron' meaning center.
Examples:
- The heliocentric model of the solar system was a major breakthrough in astronomy and challenged the prevailing geocentric model.
- The heliocentric perspective allowed astronomers to better understand the motion of the planets and the causes of eclipses and other celestial phenomena.
