A link in a computer document or on a website that, when clicked, takes the user to another location or another document.

Origin:

From hyper- meaning above or beyond + link.

Examples:

1. The hyperlink will take you to the next page.
2. He included a hyperlink in the document to provide additional information.
3. Hyperlinks can link to other pages on the same website or to other websites.
4. Hyperlinks are often underlined and a different color than the surrounding text.
5. The hyperlink was broken and couldn't be clicked.
