Hypothermia

- A medical condition in which the body's temperature drops below normal.
- A condition in which the body's internal temperature falls below the normal range.
Origin:
Late 19th century: from hypo- "below" + thermia "heat". originally used to describe exposure to low temperatures, hypothermia is now also used to describe a pathological lowering of body temperature from any cause.
Examples:
- The elderly man was suffering from hypothermia and needed to be warmed up immediately.
- The hikers were suffering from hypothermia after being caught in a snowstorm.
- The baby was diagnosed with hypothermia due to the exposure to cold.
