Not fitting well with one's plans or situation; causing difficulty or discomfort.

Origin:

Late 16th century (as a noun denoting a lack of suitability): from latin inconvenient- 'not fitting well', from in- 'not' + convenient- 'fitting well'.

Examples:

1. It was inconvenient to drive all the way across town in rush hour traffic.
2. The store was closed at an inconvenient time, so I had to come back later.
3. The flight was delayed, which was extremely inconvenient for my tight schedule.
4. The bathroom was located in an inconvenient place, so it was difficult to get to.
