Infatuation (noun)

An intense but short-lived passion or admiration for someone or something.

Origin:

Infatuation comes from the latin word infatuare meaning "to make foolish" or "to inspire with a foolish passion".

Examples:

1. He had an infatuation with the new intern and couldn't stop talking about her.
2. She was under the spell of infatuation and couldn"t see her partner"s flaws.
3. The infatuation with the new phone model was short-lived as the next one came out.
