Interleave

To insert something, such as pages, between or among other things.
Origin:
Interleave is formed by combining the prefix "inter-" meaning "between" and the word "leave" which means "to place or insert something between or among other things.
Examples:
- The librarian interleaved the fragile pages with acid-free paper.
- The bookbinder interleaved the signatures with endpapers.
- The gardener interleaved the rows of vegetables with rows of flowers.
- The artist interleaved the sheets of paper with different colors.
- The printer interleaved the pages with blank sheets to prevent smudging.
