Interleave (verb)

To insert something, such as pages, between or among other things.

Origin:

Interleave is formed by combining the prefix "inter-" meaning "between" and the word "leave" which means "to place or insert something between or among other things.

Examples:

  2. The bookbinder interleaved the signatures with endpapers.
  3. The gardener interleaved the rows of vegetables with rows of flowers.
