Menstruate (verb)

To have a menstrual period; to experience the discharge of blood and other materials from the uterus at approximately monthly intervals.

Origin:

Late 19th century: from latin mensis 'month' + menstruare 'to have a monthly flow'.

Examples:

  1. Many women experience discomfort or pain when they menstruate.
  2. It is normal for girls to start menstruating between the ages of 8 and 15.
  3. Women can use tampons or pads to absorb menstrual blood.
