Musicological (adjective)

Relating to the study of music, its history, theory and practice.

Origin:

From the words "music" meaning "an art form, cultural activity, or medium for the expression of ideas through time-organized sound" and "-logical" meaning "pertaining to the study of", it was coined in the early 20th century.
