Naughty (adjective)

Badly behaved; disobedient.

Origin:

From middle english naughte, from old english nawiht ("nothing, not at all") + -y, from proto-germanic *na-wihtijaz ("nothing"), from *na- ("not") + *wihtijaz ("thing"), equivalent to nought + -y.

Examples:

1. He was a naughty child.
2. She was feeling naughty.
3. He had a naughty grin on his face.
4. That was a very naughty thing to do.
5. He was scolded for being naughty.
