Origin:
From middle english naughte, from old english nawiht ("nothing, not at all") + -y, from proto-germanic *na-wihtijaz ("nothing"), from *na- ("not") + *wihtijaz ("thing"), equivalent to nought + -y.
Examples:
- He was a naughty child.
- She was feeling naughty.
- He had a naughty grin on his face.
- That was a very naughty thing to do.
- He was scolded for being naughty.
