Negotiable (adjective)

  1. Able to be discussed or dealt with in a business transaction.
  2. Able to be changed or altered.

Origin:

Mid 17th century: from medieval latin negotiatus "busy", from the verb negotiari (see negotiate).

Examples:

  2. The terms of the contract were negotiable.
  3. The deadline is negotiable, we can work out a schedule that suits us both.
  4. The job offer was negotiable, they were willing to negotiate the salary.
