Nonviable (adjective)

Not capable of living, growing, or developing normally; not able to survive.

Origin:

Non- + viable, from vie (verb).

Examples:

1. The fetus was diagnosed as nonviable and the pregnancy was terminated.
2. The plant was found to be nonviable and was removed from the garden.
3. The company's latest product was deemed nonviable and was never released to the market.
4. A nonviable cell is one that has lost the ability to divide and grow.
5. The nonviable seeds are not capable of germinating, thus should be removed from the soil.
