Overexcite (verb)

To excite or stimulate to an excessive degree.

Origin:

Over- + excite, from latin excitare to rouse, stir up, from ex- + citare to set in motion.

Examples:

  1. The news of the promotion overexcited the employee, and he couldn't focus on his work.
  2. The partygoers were overexcited and were making too much noise.
  3. The child's parents were worried that the toy would overexcite him and make him hyper.
