Polygamous

Relating to or characterized by polygamy, which is the state or practice of having more than one spouse at one time.
Origin:
Early 17th century: from greek polugamos "married to many", from polus "many" + gamos "marriage".
Examples:
- The tribe had a polygamous marriage system, where the men had multiple wives.
- The animal species was polygamous, with the males mating with multiple females.
- The country banned polygamous marriages and only recognized monogamous unions.
- The polygamous marriage was not recognized by the state and it was not legal.
- The polygamous family had several mothers, each with their own set of children.
