Poppycock (noun)

Nonsense; meaningless or insincere talk or writing.

Origin:

Mid-19th century: from dutch poppekak "doll"s excrement", originally "soft dung", from poppe "doll" + kak "dung".

Examples:

1. He dismissed the criticism as poppycock.
2. She could not believe that he was talking such poppycock.
3. The book was full of poppycock and lacked any real substance.
4. The whole idea of ghosts was poppycock according to him.
5. That"s just a load of poppycock, I"m not going to believe it.
