Presume (verb)

  1. To assume that something is true without proof or evidence.
  2. To take for granted, or to take as a given.
  3. To infer something from the available information, or to make an educated guess.

Origin:

From latin praesumere ("to take beforehand, anticipate"), from prae ("before") + sumere ("to tak.e")
