Redial (verb)

1. To dial a number again after a failed or disconnected call.
2. To automatically dial the last dialed number.

Origin:

From re- "again" + dial.

Examples:

1. He redialed the number three times before getting through.
2. She redialed the number but it was busy.
3. The phone had a redial button that allowed to call the last number dialed.
4. The telephone system redialed the last number automatically when the line was busy.
5. He redialed the number to make sure he had dialed it correctly.
