Settee (noun)

A long bench or sofa with a back and usually arms, used for seating several people.

Origin:

From the french word "sette" which means "long chair" and the old english word "setl" which means "seat".

Examples:

  1. I found an old settee at a garage sale and decided to refurbish it.
  2. The settee in the living room is comfortable but it's not very stylish.
  3. I was so tired that I fell asleep on the settee while watching TV.
