Spheroidal (adjective)

  1. Shaped like a spheroid; having the form of a sphere-like object.
  2. Resembling a spheroid; having a curved surface.

Origin:

Late 17th century: from french sphéroïdal, from sphéroïde (see spheroid).

Examples:

  1. Spheroidal planets have a slightly flattened shape at the poles and bulge at the equator.
