Starboard

- The right-hand side of a ship or aircraft when facing forward.

Origin:
Old english stēorbord, from stēoran "to steer" + bord "board" (referring to the side of a ship on which the steering oar or rudder is placed).
Examples:

- The pilot was instructed to make a turn to starboard to avoid the oncoming aircraft.
