Tedious
(adjective)
- Extremely boring and therefore difficult to tolerate over an extended period of time.
- Taking a long time and lacking interest; dull.
Origin:
Late 16th century (in the sense "wearisome, fatiguing"): from latin taediosus, from taedium (see tedium).
Examples:
- The lecture was tedious and I found myself struggling to stay awake.
- The journey was tedious as it took 6 hours to reach our destination.
- The paperwork was tedious and time-consuming.
- She found the task tedious, but persevered.
- He found the conversation tedious, but he was too polite to interrupt.
