On three occasions; three times.

Origin:

Old english thrīce, from thrīe "three" + -ce.

Examples:

  1. He asked her thrice to marry him before she finally said yes.
  2. He had to repeat the instructions thrice before they finally understood.
  3. I asked him thrice to lend me the book before he finally gave it to me.
  4. I have told you thrice already, I am not interested.
  5. The company was penalized thrice for failing to meet the standards.
