Transmogrify (verb)

  1. To change or transform in a surprising or dramatic way.
  2. To change or alter in a strange or unusual way.

Origin:

Coined by lewis carroll in his novel "through the looking-glass" as a humorous blend of the words "transform" and "mogul".
