Unlace (verb)

To unfasten or undo the laces of something, such as a shoe or corset.

Origin:

From the prefix un- meaning not and the word lace.

Examples:

1. She unlaced her boots to change into her flats.
2. He unlaced his shoes before going to bed.
3. The corset needed to be unlaced in order to be removed.
4. The laces on the dress needed to be unlaced for it to fit correctly.
5. The boots were unlaced for the socks to be put on.
