Unlatch (verb)

To open a latch or lock.

Origin:

From un- (not) + latch (fasten or lock with a latch).

Examples:

1. She unlatched the door and walked into the room.
2. He unlatched the gate and walked into the garden.
3. I unlatched the window and let in some fresh air.
4. Please unlatch the cabinet and give me the book inside.
