Unsheathe (verb)

To draw a sword or other weapon from its scabbard or sheath.

Origin:

The word "unsheathe" comes from the old english word "gescyĆ°an" which means "to draw out a sword." the prefix "un-" is added to indicate the opposite action of "sheathing" a sword.
