Mid 18th century: from latin vesicula "small bladder" + -ar.

Examples:

1. The patient's lungs showed vesicular changes on the X-ray.
2. The rock has vesicular texture because of the air bubbles trapped in it.
3. The vesicular structure of the plant cells was clearly visible under the microscope.
4. Vesicular eruptions on the skin are a symptom of chickenpox.
5. The vesicular sound is caused by a mixture of air and fluid in the lungs.
