A large feline mammal, native to Africa and central Iran, that is the fastest land animal, capable of reaching speeds of up to 75 mph (120 km/h).

The word "cheetah" comes from the hindi word "chita" which means "spotted one". the scientific name for cheetah is acinonyx jubatus, which means "non-moving claws" in greek and latin.
