Convulsive (adjective)

Relating to or characterized by involuntary muscular contractions and spasms.

Origin:

Late 16th century. from latin convuls- "pulled apart", from the verb convellere, + -ive.

Examples:

1. The patient was diagnosed with convulsive seizures.
2. The convulsive movements were caused by a neurological disorder.
3. The convulsive spasms were so intense that they left the patient exhausted.
4. The convulsive fit lasted for several minutes.
5. The convulsive state of the patient was alarming and required immediate medical attention.
