Goiter (noun)

  1. An abnormal enlargement of the thyroid gland in the neck, which may or may not be accompanied by an overproduction of thyroid hormones.
  2. A visible swelling of the thyroid gland in the front of the neck caused by an enlarged thyroid gland.
