Mislay

To lose temporarily; to misplace.
Origin:
From middle english mislaien, from old english mislēon, from mis- + lēon ("to lay").
Examples:
- I accidentally mislaid my keys and couldn't find them for hours.
- I mislaid my phone somewhere in the house, but I eventually found it.
- I am afraid I have mislaid my glasses, Have you seen them?
- I think I might have mislaid my wallet somewhere, I will check my pockets again.
- I mislaid my passport and had to rush to get a new one before my trip.
