Nodular (adjective)

Having many small knots or nodes.

Origin:

From latin nodulus ("small knot"), diminutive of nodus ("knot").

Examples:

1. The bark of the tree was nodular and rough to the touch.
2. The nodular surface of the metal made it difficult to polish.
3. The nodular pattern on the rock made it unique.
4. The nodular appearance of the x-ray indicated a possible growth.
5. The nodular form of the coral was different from others in the reef.
