Having many small knots or nodes.
Origin:
From latin nodulus ("small knot"), diminutive of nodus ("knot").
Examples:
- The bark of the tree was nodular and rough to the touch.
- The nodular surface of the metal made it difficult to polish.
- The nodular pattern on the rock made it unique.
- The nodular appearance of the x-ray indicated a possible growth.
- The nodular form of the coral was different from others in the reef.
