Notwithstanding (preposition)

Used to indicate that something happens or is true despite something else.

Origin:

From the phrase "not withstanding" which means in spite of.

Examples:

1. Notwithstanding the fact that it was raining, we still decided to go for a walk.
2. The company's profits were down this quarter, notwithstanding the increase in sales.
3. He was offered the job, notwithstanding his lack of qualifications.
4. Notwithstanding her fear of heights, she decided to go skydiving.
5. Notwithstanding the challenges we faced, we were able to complete the project on time.
