Easily upset or offended by minor things, or having a strong or excessive reaction to something.

Origin:

Early 19th century, from over- + sensitive.

Examples:

1. He was oversensitive to criticism.
2. She was oversensitive to noise and had trouble sleeping.
3. The child was oversensitive to touch and avoided physical contact.
4. The plant was oversensitive to light and had to be kept in the shade.
5. They were oversensitive to the weather and avoided going out on hot or cold days.
