Wet and soft from being saturated with water.
Origin:
The word soggy comes from the word "sog" which is a variant of the word "soak" from old english word "sÅcian" meaning "to become wet".
Examples:
- The bread was soggy from being left out in the rain.
- After sitting in the lake for too long, my clothes were soggy.
- The soggy ground made it difficult to walk.
- He took a bite out of the soggy sandwich and made a face.
