Thursday (noun)

The day of the week that comes after Wednesday and before Friday.

Origin:

Old english þūnresdæg, from þūnre, the genitive case of þūn(e)r "thor" (the norse god of thunder) + dæg "day". the day was so named in pagan times in honour of thor, and retained its name after the christianization of the germanic peoples.
