Not cooked enough; not finished.

Origin:

From un- (not) + done (cooked, finished).

Examples:

1. The steak was underdone and had to be put back on the grill.
2. The cake was underdone in the middle and had to be returned to the oven.
3. The pasta was underdone and had to be cooked for a few more minutes.
4. The bread was underdone and had to be put back in the oven for longer.
